Quality raw materials
We purchase only the freshest, finest herbs
available from the Republic of Korea, India, Nepal
and China. Herb conformity and origin is verified
by experienced botanists, in Korea and Japan.
Extraction and Purification
In a process used exclusively by BioSpectrum, volatile
oils are removed and later reintroduced. The plant
mass is cooked or submerged in large vats of water,
alcohol or a mixture of them in a closed and controlled
environment (pH-monitoring, decoction time-monitoring).
The extraction and condensation process result in
an extracted liquid (generally 10x) final products.
Evaporation
The liquid extract is pumped to reservoirs on its
way to the low temperature evaporator, where it
will be further concentrated. Low temperature is
essential to preserve unsteady active ingredients.
Equable concentration of the plant's distinct components
depends entirely on the slow path of low temperature
evaporation. The liquid extract is filtered and
vacuum packed after checking its microbiological
contamination. It is further stabilized and bottled
in the laboratory of BioSpectrum Life Science Institute.
Liquid extracts are subjected to the same strict
testing procedures as the dry extracts.
Quality control:
Like all other raw materials, the tinctures or the
dry extracted powders are subject to strict quality
control. Each batch is examined carefully in our
analytic laboratory. The extracts are stored in
stoneware or glass containers in our special storage
cellar until used in the products.
